Barcelona was the first one to welcome the new compact SUV from SEAT. The handsome and athletic looking crossover seems to have everything it needs to take the segment by storm. The 2018 SEAT Arona is built for adventures, says the car maker, in spite of its size and cutesy looks.
Actually, 2018 SEAT Arona has just the right size for a car of this type. The Ibiza-based SUV is is 4,138mm long and its seats are fitted 62mm higher than the hatchback for that commanding driving position people love. The car is also 99mm taller than the Ibiza,has 15mm higher suspension height, and boasts a 400-liter boot. Technology-wise, too, the Arona is up there with teh best of them, offering Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Mirror Link, dual-coloured (red and white) ambient indoor LED light and dual-zone climate control with an aircare filter, and… The FR trim includes dual-mode suspension, and the SEAT Drive Profile with four modes: Normal, Sport, Eco and Individual.
As for the engines, 2018 SEAT Arona launches with a three-cylinder, 95PS 1.0 TSI with a five-speed manual gearbox and a 115PS version of the same unit with a six-speed manual, a new four-cylinder, 150PS TSI with active cylinder deactivation technology with a six-speed manual, and a 1.6 TDI diesel with either 95 or 115PS, wit the former getting to a five-speed manual transmission or seven-speed DSG and the latter a six-speed gearbox. SEAT Arona will offer the following trim levels (depending on market): Reference, Style, FR & XCELLENCE trims. The safety and tech kit is plentiful, featuring Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Hill Hold control, Tiredness Recognition System, Auto lights and wipers, Multi-Collision Braking, Keyless Entry and Start System, precise and high-quality rear camera, premium 8-inch black panel touchscreen, and Connectivity Hub with Wireless Phone Charger and GSM signal amplifier.
